WEEK 1 & 2: YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS
In our first week at camp, students will learn how to build a business from concept to pitch. The following curriculum options are open to students in Week 1:
- K-3 Fashion Boutique
- K-3 Pizzeria
- 3-6 BizKid Academy
- 3-6 Career Academy
Students will also participate in:
- Literacy Club: Students will be engaged with read alouds of meaningful age appropriate texts and participate in activities based on the book
- Math Club: Students will participate in learning activities that develop and strengthen their mathematical and inquiry skills
- Leadership Academy: Students will engage in activities that are designed to promote group interaction, build self-confidence, and develop conflict resolution and leadership skills
- Literacy Boot Camp: Students receive direct and explicit instruction in 16 Key comprehension skills to help construct meaning from text
- Guest Speakers: Students will be introduced to a panel of Youth leaders and small business owners who will discuss their trials and tribulations and how they overcame them.
- Mind Time After Care Program : Students will engage in mindful activities, such as yoga, chess, meditation and more
WEEK 3 & 4: YOUNG CREATIVES
Our second week of camp is dedicated to exploring creative outlets for building and designing. The following curriculum options are available for students participating in this week:
- K-3 Sticker Fashion
- K-6 Made to Create Sewing Workshop
- 3-6 Coding For Beginners
- 3-8 Young Cosmetologists
Students will also participate in :
- Literacy Club: Students will be engaged with read alouds of meaningful age appropriate texts and participate in activities based on the book
- Math Club: Students will participate in learning activities that develop and strengthen their mathematical and inquiry skills
- Creative Writing: Students will engage in a variety of writing genres in this workshop. Younger students will be given a Story path to help them develop and publish their own books. Older students will enjoy writing poems, creating comics, book reviews and more.
- Literacy Boot Camp: Students receive direct and explicit instruction in 16 Key comprehension skills to help construct meaning from text
- Basketball Academy: Students will learn the basics of playing basketball and practice their skills in a student vs staff game
- Mind Time After Care Program : Students will engage in mindful activities, such as yoga, chess, meditation and more
WEEK 5 & 6: YOUNG EXPLORERS
In Week 3, students will engage in hands on exploration of the sciences
The following curriculum options are available for Week 3:
- K-6 Young Scientists
- 3-6 Engineer Academy
- 3-6 Architect Academy
Students will also participate in the following workshops:
- Literacy Club: Students will be engaged with read alouds of meaningful age appropriate texts and participate in activities based on the book
- Math Club: Students will participate in learning activities that develop and strengthen their mathematical and inquiry skills
- Literacy Boot Camp: Students receive direct and explicit instruction in 16 Key comprehension skills to help construct meaning from text
- Wiffle Ball : Students will learn the basics of playing baseball through wiffle ball and practice their skills in a student vs staff game
- Mind Time After Care Program : Students will engage in mindful activities, such as yoga, chess,meditation and more
WEEK 7 & 8: YOUNG ARTISTS
In week 4 of camp, students will explore art in different forms.
The following curriculum options are available:
- K-1 How to Draw People
- 2-5 Fashion Drawing
- 3-6 Write and Draw Comics
- K-6 Make Buildings
Students will also participate in the following workshops:
- Literacy Club: Students will be engaged with read alouds of meaningful age appropriate texts and participate in activities based on the book
- Math Club: Students will participate in learning activities that develop and strengthen their mathematical and inquiry skills
- Mural Project: Students will work collaboratively to create a mural on the meaning of education to them and their community
- Literacy Boot Camp: Students receive direct and explicit instruction in 16 Key comprehension skills to help construct meaning from text
- Volley Ball : Students will learn the basics of playing volleyball through and practice their skills in a student vs staff game!
- Mind Time After Care Program : Students will engage in mindful activities, such as yoga, chess, meditation and more
WEEK 9 & 10: YOUNG AUTHORS
In week 5 of camp, students will explore their creative side through writing in various forms.
The following curriculum options are available:
- K-3 Story Path
- 3-6 Creative Writing
- 3-6 Journalism
- 6-8 Blogging for Beginners
Students will also participate in the following workshops and activities:
- Literacy Club: Students will be engaged with read alouds of meaningful age appropriate texts and participate in activities based on the book
- Math Club: Students will participate in learning activities that develop and strengthen their mathematical and inquiry skills
- Literacy Boot Camp: Students receive direct and explicit instruction in 16 Key comprehension skills to help construct meaning from text
- Soccer : Students will have the opportunity to join our soccer team the Sparrows
- Self Defense : Students will learn self defense techniques Master Singh, our martial arts specialist
- Lacrosse : Students will learn the basics of Lacrosse
- Performing Arts : Show your creative side by singing, music, dancing and performing skits
- Computer Technology : Students will have access to computers/tablets and learn coding/Photo & Video editing/Animation
